Oban & Hollow Mountain Tour
We visit Scotland's Hollow Mountain, one of the country's most amazing engineering achivements lying deep within Ben Cruachan. A guided tour will take you deep inside the mountain, where you will see the mighty Machine Hall. At the centre lies a massive cavern which houses enormous turbines that convert the power of water into electricity. You'll have time to enjoy a coffee at the cafe or browse the visitor centre and gift shop. In the afternoon we head to Oban where you will have free time to enjoy lunch and visit attractions, such as the War and Peace Museum, the Chocolate Factory and Oban Distillery.
Fort William & Ben Nevis Distillery Tour
Ben Nevis Distillery is The Legend of the Dew of Ben Nevis Visitor Centre, built into an old warehouse dating from 1862 and former bottling hall, which still retains some of its original features. You will encounter the mythical giant Hector McDram who will reveal the Legend of the Dew of Ben Nevis in a specially commissioned audio visual presentation.
After your experience with Hector, an included tour of the production areas by a trained guide concludes with a complimentary 'tasting' (wee dram).
We also have free time to explore Fort William the outdoor capital of the UK.
Inveraray Castle Tour & Loch Lomond Shores
After a guided tour of Inveraray Castle you will have free time to explore the beautiful gardens the town of Inveraray, a traditional county town of Argyll and the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, who founded the town in 1745, alongside his new dwelling, Inveraray Castle. Much of the town, including the church, was designed and built by the Edinburgh-born architect Robert Mylne, between 1772 and 1800.
In the afternoon we have a visit to Loch Lomond Shores, a stunning visitor destination on the edge of Loch Lomond, Balloch. This is home to beautiful shops, restaurants and the Loch Lomond Sea Life Aquarium. It also offers unrivalled views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding scenery.
Museums of Glasgow (6 Day Tour Only)
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a place worth getting lost in! You simply cannot go to Glasgow and not take the opportunity to visit one of the best cultural venues in the country. A true local icon, not only does it house one of the most impressive arms and armour collections, but it also offers an extensive natural history section. Perfect for any art lover, it boasts one of the most raved about European artwork collections.
The Riverside Museaum (locally known as the 'Armadillo') has multiple awards to its' name (such as the 2013 European Museum of the Year) and certainly exceeds all expectations. Think planes, trains, automobiles, skateboards and prams, mixed with added extras such as a 'Strormtrooper'! This Zaha Hadid designed building plays host to over 3,000 objects each of which make learning about Glasgow and Scotland's rich transport history, all the more fascinating.
